Structures

Railway related structures such as platforms used to convey passengers and loading platforms for transfer of goods convey a sense of purpose and the very reason for the presence of the railway system.

Each aspect of a railway station or goods yard should be built and positioned in a way best suited to their requirements.  Coal staithes in a yard area can offer opportunity to create a coal merchant’s business with associated scenes.  A cattle dock to facilitate transfer of livestock and a provender store to handle fertiliser and agricultural goods, are both structures which strengthen a rural theme.

Loading apparatus such as a quarry chute can be created to enable transfer of minerals from road to rail.
